Sculpted by Clay Moore of Moore Action Collectibles,
this stunning figure perfectly captures the beauty and
sensuality of the Vampirella character. Adding to the
figure's charm, Vampirella ships complete with a special
"graveyard" base that provides not only a pedestal
on which to stand the figure, but a deliciously creepy
backdrop to heighten the mood!
Anticipation for the Vampirella figure could not be higher,
after a production process lasting nearly two years. Although
fans were anxious to purchase a Vampirella figure at first
opportunity, the staff of Harris Comics was resolute in
their belief that to create a proper figure, proper time
must be taken,
"When we first decided to do a Vampirella action
figure in 1998, nearly a half dozen prototypes were offered
to us. There was no doubt that if any one of these prototypes
were to be used as the Vampirella figure, fans would eagerly
buy them. But after waiting thirty years for a Vampirella
figure, we felt the fans deserved more than just a hastily
cranked-out item. They deserved the best! Therefore, Harris
partnered with Clay Moore. The Moore figure took longer
than those other guys, but the result is a gorgeous action
figure that puts all the rest to shame."
The Vampirella figure was originally going to ship only
as a regular edition, plus a bonus one-per-case "Harvest
Moon" variant, featuring a darkened paint scheme.
However, in the summer of 2000, sculptor Clay Moore had
a brainstorm. To thank the fans for their patience, he
wanted to offer a special variant that went beyond a repaint
or an added accessory. After seeing her series of Vampirella
photo covers, Moore had his idea — a Julie Strain
as Vampirella variant! Moore already had experience
sculpting Julie's likeness for the FAKK2 series, and he
knew an exclusive Julie Strain variant would drive the
fans bonkers. After a quick consultation with Julie (she
couldn't have been more excited!), the new variant was
put into production.
